Stephen Crane's "The Red Badge of Courage". its an incredibly gripping book, it narrates the story of a youth named Henry Fleming who dreams of heroism but discovers his fear of death and danger. After enlisting as a soldier and going against his mother's wishes, Henry finds out that the life of a soldier isn't what he wished, and that he'd rather milk the cows and march round and round their farm than march with his fellow soldiers to teh unknown and possibly, to their deaths. it is said at the back of teh book that Henry wins by accident his "Red Badge" a wound that signifies initiation to manhood and a sense of courage to join the world of men. it is becoming more interesting as the book progresses and i am just a miserable, lazy oaf because i am not in the mood to read it. well thats it, i have to go and find some way to advance my life. cheerio you guys have a great weekend

And no, mom, I am not the girl on my poem, I am not depressed, I am not thinking of death and I dont plan to kill anybody.. unless... haha, (kidding)..I just wrote those dark-themed poetry for art itself the second one I'll post is a 50-word short story, which is a quite a delight to write..
Roses

Melancholy flashed through her eyes like jet
as she wore nightfall against her flesh.
And sin, it flowed like a river on her chest.
She tried to find her way back home-
only to find her name on the gravestone.
While the roses bleed, fall and screech
seek revenge, show no remorse - alas!
they fall violently like daggers
staining blood on her pale feet
that was once cold, white ivory.

Dark Angel

She kept secrets behind ancient smiles on the cemetery gates. At your husband's wake, she flapped her wings in mourning and shed a black feather on his corpse. She was there when you lost your grandma, and generations before. She was the one who gathered roses at your coffin door.

Tea

Tea is the sun on your cup,
the spark of thought in your sleep;
the dream of an angel in milk
and Nature's laughter, caught in a wink!

For all the veggies out there: ♥gone are the days when we have to take all the ground meat out of our spaghetti before we could finally chow it down out of existence, for here comes an all-veggie spaghetti-treat. I don’t know what its called- my mum saw this recipe on a magazine and sort of tweaked it up a bit. I won’t put the exact measurements for I am not sure of it either and it really depends on your taste. Warning, though, your name might be erased from your memory after eating this dish; I tell you, it is that good. Now don’t tell me I didn’t warn you, heh. firstly, you’d need a saucepan alright, Put a little oil, and sauté onion or garlic- or both, though I prefer you put neither- I read in a book the acidic effects of onions. If the sulfuric acid could make your eyes tear while chopping them, imagine what harm it could do when it is actually inside your system. In its natural state, the body is slightly alkaline. If too much acidic food is eaten, and the body/blood become acidic instead of alkaline, then the blood-purifying organs become overworked, ultimately weakened and susceptible to disease . So the less acidic foods we eat, the better. Now back to the kitchen.. You now mix in the eggplants, alright, and the bell pepper , red or green-whatever, it tastes the same, and pour forth the tomato sauce , and we have to add this stem, I don’t know what its called in English, but in Filipino, it is called kintsay; (I would hazard a guess it is a part of the celery family), and season with some salt and pepper and basil or whatever herbs you’ve got on your cupboard and just simmer and you will know if it is cooked . Hey, it just came to me that if you added olives, that would be brilliant as well. Just pour that sauce over a plateful of pasta, don’t forget to give yourself a nice pat on the back for a job excellently done and tada, you are lookin at your dinner. I have never cooked this alone, though, I don’t know, they think I am not to be trusted when it comes to the kitchen, what they make me do most of the time is chop all the veggies. You could just imagine what an incredibly boring chore that is for me, preparing all the ingredients and never having to cook anything. Oh well, just let me know if you have tried it and if it was goood

Here is a piece of paper, unstained, cold and crisp. I tore it in half, in fourths, gripped it grudgingly in my fist and put it in my mouth. I chewed it. It tasted of dreams and sunsets of long ago. Also of revenge, of ink and of the tears I bled when the werewolf's fangs plunged deep into my flesh. I taste the chilly nights I spent on the alleys unfamished, only to be waken by the phantoms who stole my sight. I taste them, their spite, the petals of corruption, the wrinkles of their greed. I could taste the man who spoke truths in old whispers, and the woman who cursed at romance's feet. I could taste the anthem of the souls who screech for justice. I could taste the chemicals that the scientists injected into the whimpering guniea pig. I could taste the end of the world.

Here is a piece of paper. Chew it well.

The Oscar Wilde Skit
by Monty Python

Scene: Oscar Wilde’s drawing room. A crowd of suitable dressed folk are engaged in typically brilliant conversation, laughing affectedly and drinking champagne.

Prince of Wales : My congratulations, Wilde. Your latest play is a great success.

Oscar: There is only one thing in the world worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.

There follows 15 seconds of sycophantic laughter.

Prince: Very, very witty… very very witty.

Whistler: There is only one thing worse than being witty, and that is not being witty.

Fifteen more seconds of the same.

Oscar: I wish I had said that.

Whistler: You will, Oscar, you will.

Oscar: You Majesty, have you met James McNeill Whistler?

Prince: Yes, we’ve played squash together.

Oscar: There is only one thing worse than playing squash together, and that is playing it by yourself. (Silence.) I wish I hadn’t said that.

Whistler: You did, Oscar, you did. (A little laughter)

Prince: You realty must forgive me, Wilde, I’ve got to get back up at the palace.

Oscar: Your Majesty is like a big jam doughnut with cream on the top.

Prince: I beg your pardon?

Oscar: Um… it was one of Whistler’s.

Whistler: I never said that.

Oscar: You did, James, you did.

The Prince of Wales stares expectantly at Whistler.

Whistler: Er… Well, Your Highness, what I meant was that, like a doughnut, um, your arrival gives us pleasure and your departure only makes us hungry for more. (Appreciative laughter.) Your Highness, you are also like a great stream of bat’s piss.

Prince: What?

Whistler: It was one of Wilde’s one of Wilde’s.

Oscar: It sodding was not! It was Shaw!

George Bernard Shaw: I… I merely meant, your Majesty, that you shine out like a shaft of gold when all around is dark.

Prince: (Accepting the compliment.) Ah!

Oscar: Right. (To Prince) Your Majesty… is like a dose of clap! (Points at Whistler)

Whistler: Uh, that is… before you arrive is pleasure, and after, the pain is in the dong.

Prince: What?

Oscar and Whistler: One of Shaw’s, one of Shaw’s.

Shaw: You bastards! Um… what I meant, Your Majesty, what I meant…

Oscar: We’ve got him, Jim.

Whistler: Come on, Shaw.

Oscar: Come on, Shaw-y.

Shaw: I merely meant…

Oscar: Come on, Shaw-y…

Whistler: Let’s have a bit of wit, then, man.

Shaw: (Blows a raspberry)

The Prince shakes Shaw’s hand. Laughter all around.
